Frieda B. Thannisch, 88, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. Service: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Frieda was born March 3, 1924. She was the daughter of Sam and Alma Bell of Fort Worth. She was one of four children: siblings, Art H. Bell, Flora Jane Bell and James H. Bell. Frieda was a graduate of Paschal High School, where she excelled in her studies. After graduation, she applied and was accepted for work in the FBI. She moved to Washington, D.C., and after several years was known as the tough, tall, slender Texan with a semi-feathered haircut. After World War II, she left the FBI and returned to Texas to work in the Social Security Administration. Later she married, Harold Thannisch and gave birth to two children. She has been surrounded during her life by love and great pride in her family. Her younger brother; sister; and son-in-law, Aldo, preceded her in death.
Survivors: Loving children, Cheree Rey and Harold Thannisch Jr. (Laurie); brother, Art H. Bell; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family members and dear friends.
