Diana was born Feb. 9, 1938, to Grace and Bernard Funke in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was baptized into Christ in the Lutheran faith while in the seventh grade. Her faith in Christ was strong and close to her heart.
She was active in Walther League and attended Memorial Lutheran School, where she met her future husband. She attended Twin Falls High School. On Aug. 24, 1958, she married her school sweetheart and the love of her life, Kenneth D. Thaete. They were to have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Diana was an Air Force spouse, and this allowed her to travel to many locations in the USA and also to Libya and other countries. She also sold Avon for many years.
Surviving Diana is her loving husband, Kenneth D. Thaete; two sons, Brian (Elaine) Thaete and Steven (Sandra) Thaete; one daughter, Geraldine Thaete; her eight grandchildren and eight (plus two due) great-grandchildren; and her brother, David (Claira) Funke.
She was much loved by her family, friends and everyone she happened to meet.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
A memorial service for Diana will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Clover Lutheran Church in Clover, Idaho.
