DAVENPORT -- Memorial services for Bertha L. Teter, 92, of St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island, formerly of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove, Iowa. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. until the Mass time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Teter died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at the care center.
Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.
Bertha retired in 1970 after 27 years of service to the Rock Island Arsenal. She had been a machinist during World War II and had worked in various departments in the years following including the packaging department.
Bertha L. Boyd was born May 28, 1905, in Evansville, Ind., to Daniel A. and Louise C.(Buehn) Boyd. She married Fay P. Teter on Feb. 23, 1925, in Huntsville, Mo. He died June 18, 1972.
She enjoyed traveling and had traveled quite extensively during her lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to any local children's organization, especially those that cater to the needs of children at Christmas.
Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Bopes and Judy Jo Strieder, both of Rock Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Shirley Teter, Moline; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Leona Nevill, Terre Haute, Ind.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Georgia Boyd, Davenport; a brother, Thomas Boyd, Evansville; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Fay Gene Teter; a sister, Florence Miller; and a grandson, Kevin Teter. May they rest in peace.
