Elinor Alice Allred passed away peacefully in her home on July 31, 2020 in her loving home. Grandma was born November 18, 1918 in Long Island, New York, but had many fond memories of growing up at Coral Gables and Lauderdale by the Sea until the Great Miami Hurricane of 1926.

Being the youngest surviving child with 3 siblings, Grandma had a few examples as to how she gained the nickname of "stingy gut" amongst them and how she was favored by her big brother John. Having entered her teens during The Great Depression, Grandma learned frugality meant survival. We all have stories highlighting her creativity of reusing or saving items because she always planned to use things later.

Having 6 children, and now countless grand, great grand and great great grandchildren; we were all blessed to have the opportunity to know and feel her love. Grandma has lost so many during her 101 years. Most notably her loving husband Cleve Udith Allred who she has been without for 30 years. We are joyed to know she is again in the arms of her love and with those who have been waiting for her although we weep for our own loss.

We will keep your kindness, love and card shark tendencies in our heart and continue to pass them to our own. In lieu of flowers please consider contributing to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to your local food bank in her memory.
