Elizabeth Dietrich Derby

Cannie and Fannie called each other Tut and Tut. See Postcard.

We have letters written to Charles Dietrich from Cannie while in Abilene. They are heartbreaking to read. A young girl far from home with 2 little girls that she missed desperately.

Note: Stone has mispelled name. Carrie Detrick. In the early 1900's, people wrote in calligraphy and it was very hard to read. She was far from home and it appears that her family was not there when she was buried. I have the paperwork from the school.

I was fascinated by Cannie's story in the 70's. She is my hubby's relatve but I was always drawn to her. I found out in 2010 that we are related. Choate is a common name between us.
