MUNCIE--Former Muncie resident Beverly D. Terhune, 70, died Thursday at home after a long illness.
Mrs. Terhune was born in Detroit, Mich., and graduated from Ladywood Catholic School, Indianapolis, and Indiana University. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Delaware Country Club, Wilderness Country Club, Naples, Fla., and Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
She was active in Muncie Children's Museum and Muncie Center for the Arts. She was made a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Otis Bowen. She and her husband, established the Robert A. and Beverly D. Terhune Fund at the Community Foundation, and established the TEACH Lab at Ball State University.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Robert A. Terhune; four children, Bob Terhune (wife: Brenda), Andy Terhune (wife: Pam), Scott Terhune and Julie Terhune; a brother, Bob Dobson, and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at Meeks Mortuary. Memorials may be sent to Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis, or Muncie Center for the Arts.
