Abe's name was Abram TenBrook; Timbrook is a very common misspelling. He did go by "Abe". He was born August 6, 1825, in Parke County, Indiana. He died in January 4. 1909, in Merrill, Oregon. He first came west with his brother, Robert, for the Gold Rush, returned back east for his wife and arrived in Jackson County, Oregon, in 1852. Abe made another trip east in 1860, and piloted a wagon train west in 1861. He was later one of the first settlers near Goose Lake in (what is now) Lake County in 1869. Interestingly, his obits are wrong on his birth date. The date that I cite is based upon his Donation Land Grant application (signed by him), which is consistent with census records.
