Charles Raymond Templeton was born to Mattie Haigh and George Ross Templeton, September 21, 1876 in Indiana. He was the eldest child born of seven children to them. His grandparents were Leroy and Mary Jane Patterson Templeton and Amanda Fullen and George Patterson.
Charles came to Arkansas from Indiana and met Ada Elizabeth Darby, daughter of Elizabeth "Lizzie" Shall Galloway and William Jefferson Darby. They were married February 25, 1914
Four children were born in their marriage. They lost two of their children, Margaret Ruth and James Darby as young children. Charles and Ada moved to Cabot, Arkansas and remained there for the rest of their lives.
