Elizabeth Dorcus (Taylor) Bullock

Elizabeth Dorcus Bullock, aged 93, passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2015, at the Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Care Center in Aurora, Colorado, after a 14 month valiant struggle with the disease.
Dorcus, as she was known, was born on January 2nd, 1922, in Millburne, Wyoming, the daughter of Bert and Mabel Taylor. Dorcus was the 2nd youngest of 8 children: 3 brothers-Melvin, Lester and Marvin and 4 sisters-Stella, Velma, Vera and Lorna, all of whom preceded her in death.
Dorcus enjoyed a vibrant youth filled with school and family activities in the wonderfully pristine environment of her beloved Wyoming. Many, many times she longed for walking with her dog towards the "Bridger Butte" which she considered her backyard.
Her first visit to a Saturday night dance in Lonetree, Wyoming, at the age of 13, she met a young cowboy named Lee Bullock whom she later married on December 23rd, 1939, a marriage that lasted only 68 years until his death in July of 2008. Their marriage produced 4 children, a daughter Gloria and 3 sons-Wayne, Verne and Randy. All are alive except for Verne who died in March of 2014.
Dorcus became a skilled master of anything she tried including poetry. her forte was cooking and making candy. Her hand dipped chocolates, pecan logs and English toffee were second to none. Without doubt, if not the best cook she was one of the best cooks ever to ride the planet. Her social skills were outstanding. Dorcus quickly touched others with kindness and consideration and had that special talent to help and empathize. She taught her kids to "remember when you take and forget when you give".
Dorcus is survived by a host of grandchildren, great grand children and one great, great grandson.
Dorcus will be buried in the Ft. Bridger Cemetery in Ft. Bridger, Wyoming on Tuesday, September the 8th at 10:00am. open to family members.
