"Mr. and Mrs. James J. Taylor, of Holmdel, Monmouth County, celebrated their golden wedding on December 18. The minister who married them and the groomsman and bridesmaid who "stood up" with them, besides four sons and two daughters, with their thirteen children, were present and made the old couple several golden gifts. The old gentleman, however, surprised his children by giving each of them a check for $1,000."
