Earl Truett Taylor, 90, died at 6:59 AM Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at Home Hospital, where he had been a patient for one week. Born Oct. 1, 1907, in Tippecanoe County, he spent all of his life here. On Sept. 28, 1925, in Danville, he married Doris Stingley; she died Dec. 5, 1992.

Mr. Taylor worked at Ross Gear Division of TRS for 30 years and was a foreman there before retiring in 1970. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 123.

Surviving are three daughters, LaTreva (Mrs. Stephen) Jones of Monticello, Vera Jo (Mrs. John) Edington of Munster, and Sandra Elaine Bair of Lafayette; a son, Walter M. Taylor of West Lafayette; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Harlan DeVon Taylor. Service Dec. 18 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, officiated by his daughter, the Rev. Vera Jo Edington; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
