Hellen Davis, 79, passed away on May 1, 2011, on the first beautiful spring day, after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She resided at 8329 South Escalante Drive (2397 East) in Sandy, Utah at the time of her death.

Although Hellen's physical body was weak and frail, her personality shined thru, even with her memory loss. Hellen did not remember the days. She remembered "MOMENTS". These are the moments of her life.Through all her trials nothing but true spunky TEXAS spirit shined though.

Hellen was born January 4, 1932 in Ira, Texas. J. W. and Mary M. Taylor welcomed this precious baby girl who was the last of their seven children. They were all raised on the family farm where each one of them had jobs and responsibilities. In her early school years the chores had to be done before she went to class, so she rode her horse to school as not to be tardy which then the horse returned home alone.

Hellen completed her school years in Ira, Texas. She attended Southwest Texas University in San Marcos. To support herself in college she took a job as a soda jerk at the local drug store where she met her loving sweetheart Bill Davis.

They were married in November 1949. Shortly afterwards Bill was called to active duty in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps. While Bill was serving Hellen was saving. She worked as a bank teller and surprised him with a Studebaker after the war.

Together, they welcomed four children: Blake, Cole, Amanda, and Grayson. They moved to SLC in 1976, where they found a home away from home with wonderful people who became there lifelong friends.

Bill and Hellen were avid golfers who loved and embraced their membership at Willow Creek Country Club. Hellen served on the Board of Directors and continued to enjoy the Dawn Patrol.

Red Bug experienced not one but two "Hole In One's" Hellen's favorite color has always been Purple. Texas Bluebonnets, Rose of Sharon and Tulips made her smile. Hellen always felt that Bill had a hand in sending "Gracie Girl" down from Heaven to keep her company.

Hellen is survived by her children Blake, Cole, Amanda (Michael) Smith, and Grayson, her grandchildren Zachary, Zane, Zoe Grace Smith, and Lindsey Davis. She is survived by her sister Lila Brennand (Bob Brennand). Preceded in death by her husband and parents. A special thanks to all those who took her under their wing.

A viewing will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East). Services will follow at 12:00 p.m., followed by interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
A "Celebration of Life" will follow at WCCC. BILL met HELLEN at the Pearly Gates with a kiss on his lips and a golf club in his hand and said, "We're next up on the tee Red Bug".
