Archie Lee Taylor, 65, died in Missouri on November 20, 2013. He was the son of James Thomas Trotter and Frankie B. Taylor. He was raised in West Memphis, Arkansas along with his two brothers and two sisters. He went on to serve as a Military Police Officer in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in the country of Panama with the 534th MP Company in Fort Clayton Canal Zone. While stationed in Fort Clayton, he met and married his wife of forty-two years, Carmen Elizabeth Taylor. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army and relocated to Kansas City, Missouri. He worked multiple jobs throughout his lifetime, including owning his own Janitorial Company. His recent position was as a manager for Woodley Building Maintenance. He was a gifted athlete and played baseball for the Army and the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues. He once wrote, "Life is simple. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people. We are united in our differences. Live your dreams, and share your passions." He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, two brothers, one sister, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral: December 6, 2013, at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church.
