Naomi Johnson, 72, returned to her home in Heaven on June 19, 2011. She was born Jan 16, 1939 on a cold wintery day in the home of her uncle, Clarence Taylor, in Osmond. She was the fourth daughter of Albeet and ViVian Jensen Taylor.
Naomi was a tiny petite, little girl with blonde hair and big, blue eyes who loved to dance.
Her father was killed by lightning when Naomi was five years old. Even though time dimmed the memory, Naomi was able to recall him holding her and rocking her.
After her father died, the family moved to Preston, Idaho for two years and then moved back to Grover.
Naomi always wanted a real cowboy. She got her wish on April 6, 1965 when she married Farrell Johnson.
Naomi wore many hats. Her life included anything from farming and rodeos to holding down a job working alongside Farrell with construction to helping take care of a cutter team.
She even followed along to Grandma Hemmerts hunting camp, where she worked alongside family form preparing meals to pushing timber. This led to the love of Little Greys, where many summers were spent with family camping and hunting. It became her second home.
Naomi was known for her homemade bread. She made
the best. She also canned many bottles of fruit and vegetables.
She touched so many lives. She made friends over the years and stayed in touch with all.
Naomi enjoyed many family get togethers, including over 15 years of going to the Dodge National Finals Rodeo.
Naomi was a fun loving person, just full of life,a party wherever she was.
She will be missed by her children; Lori (Wayne) Smith of Grover; Kipp (Melissa) Johnson of Afton and Tory (Stacey) Johnson of Auburn; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Laura Tolman of Fairview and Joy Wilkes of Afton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Bobby Johnson; a daughter, Gina Brewer and brother, Nolan Taylor.
Funeral services for Naomi Johnson will be held on Thursday, June 23 at noon in the Auburn LDS Church.
A viewing will be held from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church
