Louise Taylor Kirby was born in Roanoke, Va., to Samuel Taylor and Flora Belcher Taylor. She attended Harrison Elementary, Addison High School and Virginia State College. Louise later moved to New Jersey and resided in the South Ward of Newark. Louise was employed by Weston Instruments for 30 years. Upon retirement, the family returned to Virginia. During those years Louise met and married Phillip Kirby, who passed in 1996. They had been married for 35 years. Louise was one of seven children who preceded her in death, Kirtman D. Taylor Sr., Elizabeth Taylor-Smith, Arthur D. Taylor, Dorothy Walker- Sharpe, Florine Taylor-Fulford, and Arnesia Taylor-Drew. Predeceased by her son, Eric L. Parham in 2009, Louise leaves to mourn her loss, Bryon Taylor (son); Sonja Kirby Wharton (daughter) and Dexter Wharton (son-in-law); five grandchildren, Erica L. Parham, Victoria A. Parham, Arnesia Crump, Adrienne N. Parham, and Chelsie Jones; a great-grandson, Christian Parham-Gassmann; nieces, Bettye-Jo Mayo, Jill F. Eliott, and Jimmye C. Walker; and lifelong friend and neighbor, Gwendolynn W. Dudly. Louise was a member of Saint Gerard's Catholic Church in Roanoke, Va. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Williams Memorial Park.
