Jane was a member of Saint John's Episcopal Parish in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School. Mrs. Palmer retired in 1993 after 28 years of service with the federal government. The majority of her employment was with the Department of the Army at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Marie Palmer, of Hagerstown; a son, Dr. Philip L. Palmer of Middletown; three grandchildren; a sister, Connie M. Grams of Rosemont, Md.; a brother Donald T. Taylor of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Amos E. Palmer, who died in 1987 and two brothers, Gerald L. Taylor of Frederick, and Kenneth H. Taylor of Emmitsburg.
A memorial service and entombment will be held in the Chapel Mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland.
