Allen Taylor (1916-2011)
TRENTON - Allen Benson Taylor was born on August 5, 1916, in Roscoe, Texas to Beatrice Taylor and James Taylor. He married Theresa Johnson on April 25, 1967, in Mesquite, Texas. He died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the age of 95 in Abilene, Texas.
Allen moved from Roscoe to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area working as a machinist. He then went to Woodbury, New Jersey where he worked at the Philadelphia ship yards climbing the ladder to become a full fledged tool and dye maker. Allen worked for Boeing Aircraft and Continental Can before landing a job at TI. He soon became a Line Supervisor over 250 employees. Allen and Theresa found the property in Trenton and together built their dreams. Allen loved dominoes, he played until the day he had no more partners.
Allen was always proud of his garden, he would get the rototiller out of the barn and start the ground work, hoping for a great crop and lots of good fresh produce. After Allen retired from TI he went to work again as a tool and dye maker in shops in Sherman and in Trenton. Allen and Theresa were long time faithful member of the West Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Allen is preceded in death by Theresa Johnson Taylor, his loving wife of 43 years.
Allen is survived by four children, Allen Taylor Jr., Lynda Barnes, Tommy Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
