Mrs. Amanda Maddrix Called Home
After an illness of more than a year with a complication of diseases, Mrs. Amanda Maddrix, widow of the late Frank Maddrix, passed away at her home in this city on Monday morning last.
Mrs. Maddrix was 62 years of age, and was the daughter of the late Chas. Tawes of Crisfield. Her husband preceded her in death 22 years ago.
The deceased was a good Christian woman of constant attendance at church until her declining health compelled her to remain at home. In her death there passed into the great beyond, a kindly soul whose life had done much to alleviate the suffering of the ill, to cheer and to help the needy, and to make the world a better place in which to live. She was a good mother, a good neighbor and a good friend.
Funeral services for the deceased were held from her late home on Wednesday, with interment in the Crisfield cemetery.
Mrs. Maddrix is survived by the following children: Chas. T. Maddrix, Clarence E. Maddrix, Elijah S. Maddrix, Lake Maddrix and G. Sheriff Maddrix, and Mrs. Clarence Crockett, all of Crisfield.
