Mrs. Naomi T. Hall Died In
Salisbury Hospital on Thursday
One of the most highly respected matrons of the Asbury section, Mrs. Naomi Tawes Hall, died in the Peninsula General Hospital at Salisbury yesterday, Thursday morning, at the age of 66 years, after an illness of three weeks.
Mrs. Hall was the daughter of the late Capt. Leonard S. Tawes and Mary Ellen Tawes and had been a native of the Asbury section her entire life, for seventeen years she was a teacher in the schools of Somerset County.
As a teacher she made many warm friendships of those she taught and kept those friendships as the children grew to manhood and womanhood. Her ability to understand the workings of the minds of children endeared her to her students, and as they grew older they remembered her and paid her frequent visits.
She was a charter member of Chesapeake Chapter 28 Order of Eastern Star and throughout her life was active in the affairs of that group and was one of its most active members. She was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Church and was active and faithful in her attendance there.
Her only brother, Dr. P.H. Tawes, of Cambridge, Md., preceeded her in death by several years and he was one of the best known doctors on the Eastern Shore.
She will rest at the Covington Funeral Home until tomorrow, Saturday at 2 P.M., when services will be conducted by Rev. Elderdice, former pastor of Mt. Pleasant, and Rev. A.T. McFarland, pastor of Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be in the Crisfield cemetery.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Elizabeth W. Hall and one niece, Mrs. Herman Hoene of Baltimore.
Pallbearers will be James A. Cottman, William S. Sterling, John H. Jeffries, Travis Thomas, Arthur T. Cox, Sr., and Marshall Scott.
