Herbert "Bubba" Davis, 77, of Detroit, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at St. John Hospital in Detroit. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Friday at Parham Cemetery with Rev. Leroy Brent and Rev. James Hamilton officiating with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 11 am on Friday.
Davis was born August 20, 1931 in Weakley County, son of the late Hurley and Kathrine Tansil Davis. He was a US Army veteran and a Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bennie Winston Davis of Detroit; two sons, Michael Davis of Martin and James Roderick Davis of St. Louis, Mo; one daughter, Shirlyn Davis of Detroit; and two sisters, Shirley Jones of St. Louis and Linda Davis of Martin. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hershell Davis and Edward Davis.
