John Tannahill

John was the first son of John Tannahill and Janet Sharp. He came to Canada from Scotland as a young man with his parents.
He married Marion Caldwell, who was also from Scotland, on July 18, 1835, when he was 27 years old.
To this union were born eight children: Jane, Janet, Margaret, Isabella, James Sharp, Marion Caldwell, John James and Barbara.
They raised their children in Elgin.
Marion, his wife, survived him many years and is buried at Kensington Cemetery.
