Regina L. (Tannahill) Morton, 68, of Chatham, passed away at 3:28 a.m. on July 12, 2011 at her home.
She was born on May 14, 1943 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Chester and Laura L. Moore Tannahill who preceded her in death. She married Richard John Morton in 1982 and he survives.
Surviving children include daughter, Cheryl Gudgel, along with two grandchildren; Jim Jenkins Jr. ( wife, Angi), along with three grandchildren; Michael Jenkins, along with one grandchild; Nicole Kirk (husband, Kevin), along with two grandchildren; Johnny Morton (wife, Kelli), along with five grandchildren; Aaron Barlow (FiancÚ, Karen) , along with three grandchildren; total grandchildren surviving are sixteen. Also surviving is her brother, Rex Tannahill of St. Louis (companion, Bjorn).
Regina graduated from Lanphier High School in 1962. She worked at St. John's Hospital for 13 years before retiring from Doctor's Hospital in 2005. Regina was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and reading. Her love of knitting will be shown in an upcoming article Love of Knitting.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home, 530 N. 5th St. Springfield with Reverend Larry Griffith officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
