George H. Tannahill was the son of William Tannahill and Janette White. He was born in Nashua, Iowa after the family had moved from Huntingdon, Quebec. He married Mary Evelyn Robinson on Oct.1881 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They were the parents of twelve children: Frederick William, James Herbert, Arthur Eugene, Jeanette Alice, Anna Georgia, Loyal Wellington, Carl Raymond, Cecil Eric, Edith Mary, Iva Lillian, Vernon Archer and Irma Lorene. George was a legislator in Kansas for District 92, in 1903,1905.1907 and 1908.
