Mrs. Elmer Tankersley Guy, of Route 1, Wrens Road, Thomson, Georgia, entered into rest Thursday, January 2, 1975, at an Augusta hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 3, 1975 at 3 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Dendler officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Neal, Carey Tankersley, Mansel McTier, Billy Crowell, Earl Tankersley, Robert Tankersley and Lloyd Crowell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eunice Sunday School Class. She was a native of Columbia County, but had lived in McDuffie County for a number of years. She was a retired school teacher and had taught Sunday school class for many years at Sweetwater Baptist Church, where she was a member. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lewis F. Purvis, Thomson, Mrs. Dorothy Marion, Roswell, Ga., Mrs. G. Lanier Morris, Covington, Ga., and Mrs. James V. Wood, Norcross, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Crowell, Camak, Ga., Mrs. Kathleen Neal and Mrs. Sara Tankersley, Thomson; one brother, Edward Tankersley, Appling, Ga. Curtis Funeral Home.
