Raymond Eugene Talbert, 58, died at 8:05 AM Sunday, Oct. 8, 1989, in Lafayette Home Hospital, where he has been hospitalized four weeks, following illness since July. Born Nov. 16, 1930, he was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson High School. His marriage to Joyce Scott was Dec. 26, 1959, in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Talbert, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, was a welder at Peerless Wire Goods Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1979. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Mark Talbert, Tim Talbert, and Steven Talbert; a daughter, Denise (Mrs. Rex) Wireman; his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Lowery; a sister, Mrs. Joyce Lockard; a brother, Claude "Butch" Lowery, Jr., all of Lafayette; and five grandchildren.
