Son of Burgess and Mary E. Trotter Taintor.

Mr. Taintor married Alice Belle Woodruff 23 March 1894. They were parents of one daughter Esther [William] Steele, and four sons: Roy H., Burgess, Harry, and Raymond.

Preceded in death by his wife and their sons Roy H., & Harry.

Survived by one daughter Esther Steele, and two sons: Burgess of Columba Ohio, and Raymond of City.

Mr. Taintor was a Springfield High School grad. He was a member of the orchestra. He loved music and was known to be a very good fiddle player.

He operated a grocery store. When retiring he and his wife let their son Raymond take over the Taintor Grocery Store and Alvah and his wife moved to Santa Ana Califoria until about late 1960 when they moved back to Springfield.
