Dextal O'Neal Tadlock Davis, 92, met Jesus peacefully Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson with family and friends by her side.

The celebration of her life will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon at 11 am Saturday, September 5, 2009, with Dr. Billy McKay and Dr. Frank Thomas officiating. Visitation is 5-8 pm today at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.

Mrs. Davis was born April 28, 1917, in Scott County to Jim and Eva Mae Tadlock. Her family and friends knew her as a quite "special" lady with a caring giving spirit, a loving and supportive wife to her husband Wayne, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

Some of her fondest memories were taking care of her grands, great grands and working in her yard. She was a longtime member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church. While residing at Highland Home, she looked forward to the Monday church services with Alta Woods Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne S. Davis; son, Wayne Reginald Davis; her parents, four brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Jewel Yates; son-in-law, Sam, whom she loved dearly; sister, Molly Laseter; sister-in-law, Mary Tadlock and daughter in law, Peggy Davis; five grandchildren, Lori Cohen (Andy), Mike Martin (Kathy), Kenny Martin (Robin), Wayne R. Davis, Jr., and Steven Davis (Miriam); step grandchildren, Richard, Betty and Tori Puckett; ten great grandchildren, Emily Sensenbrenner, Sidney Cohen, Niki and Christopher Martin, Blake and Chase Martin, Amanda and Timmy Davis, Lauren and Jonathan Davis; two great greats and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Martin, Kenny Martin, Wayne Davis, Steven Davis, John Ray Davis and Joe Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be step grandson, Richard Puckett, great grandchildren and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to her doctors, John Pieklik, MD, Jefferson Fletcher, MD, Parvesh K. Goel, MD and the staff at Highland Home.
