Tina Louise Tackett Croston, 80, a resident of Valley Bend, West Virginia, and for the past four years, Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center, passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 26, 2013, at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center in Elkins, West Virginia.

Tina was born Tuesday, February 28, 1933, in Mill Creek, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charlie Tackett and Hazel Mae Currence Tackett. On June 29, 1951, she married John William "Bill" Croston, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2013.

Left to cherish Tina's memory is her son, John W. Croston, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Valley Bend; three sisters, Bonnie Rhodes of Mill Creek; Irene Phillips and husband, Bill, of Valley Bend; and Ruth Howard of Fairmont, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Christopher White and Charles White both of Pennsylvania; Sarah Butcher of Elkins; John T. "JT" Croston of Valley Bend; Laura Lanham of Valley Bend; Kaitlin Hostetler of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; four step grandchildren, Amanda Wyatt of Eaton, Colorado; Sarah Ogden of Spring Lake, North Carolina.; Justin Chamberlain of Elkins; and Kaitlin Chamberlain of Valley Bend; several great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Tina was preceded in death by her daughter, Billie Jane Boose; three sisters, Mary Herron; twin sister Lina Taylor and Kathleen Pingley; three brothers, Lonnie Tackett, Frank Tackett, and Charles Tackett; a granddaughter, Molly Marie Croston; a step-grandson, Alan Chamberlain; and four step-grandchildren, Kate Bolgar, Isabella Chamberlain, Brianna Chamberlain and Alanna Chamberlain.

Tina attended the schools of Randolph County, West Virginia and graduated from Tygart Valley High School with the class of 1952. She had worked at Beta Shoe Company, Reidboard Brothers, the West Virginia Children's Home and several various jobs as well as being a homemaker. Tina was an excellent cook, an avid reader and enjoyed collecting antiques, going to yard sales and flower gardening. Most of all, she loved her family and will be greatly missed by them. She was a protestant by faith.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Saturday, November 30, 2013, from noon-2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley will officiate, and interment will follow at Brick Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the charity of your choice in honor of Tina. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services have been entrusted with the arrangements for Tina Louise Tackett Croston.
