George A. Tills, 75, of 1341 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Saturday
night upon arrival at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Tills was born March 15, 1892, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late
Charles and Augusta Laase Tills. He attended the district school. He was a
pattern maker at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, Manitowoc, for 35 years after which
time he was employed at Eck Foundries for 13 years until retirement 10 years
ago. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Manitowoc Lodge 65 F. & A.M.,
American Legion Drews-Bleser Post and a member of St. John United Church of
Christ. He married Amanda Petri Feb. 22, 1917, at Ludington, Mich. The couple
came to Manitowoc in 1919.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Paul of Milwaukee, Wilbur of Mondovi and
Donald of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. William C. Kappelman of Rt. 2, Manitowoc and
six grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceeded him in death.
Friends may call at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, until 10:30a.m.
Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the time
of services.
