Funeral Saturday With Burial At Evergreen
A stroke suffered late last night by Mrs. August Tills, 68, at the homestead
farm in the town of Manitowoc Rapids caused her death at 1 a.m. today before the
arrival of a physician.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the home and at 2 p.m.
from the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran church in the town of Newton. Interment
will be at Evergreen cemetery.
Born Dorothea Piepelow in Spornitz, Mecklenburg, Germany, in 1866 she came to
America in 1884 and the following year married August Tills. They took up their
home on the present farm in the town of Rapids. Had she lived until February the
couple would have observed their golden wedding.
Survivors are the husband, two sons, William of Wauwatosa and Charles of this
city; two daughters, Mrs. William Nack, Two Rivers, and Mrs. Hugo Kielsmeier of
Spring Lake, Wis.; a brother Joachim Piepelow in Germany, 14 grandchildren and
one great grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home until
Friday morning when it will be removed to the homestead.
