Charles H. Tills, 60 (photo) a member of the Lindstedt-Hoffman real estate and
insurance firm here since 1920, died suddenly of a heart attack at 5:30 Tuesday
afternoon while seated in a chair at his home, 864 North 15th street.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Lutheran church,
Park and North Eighth street, the Rev. Carroll Hinderlie officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen cemetery.
A son of the late John and Minnie Tills, the deceased was born in this city in
1887 and after receiving his education in public schools here, became a
carpenter contractor in 1902. He continued in that occupation here and for seven
years in East Troy, Wis., until becoming associated with the Lindstedt-Hoffman
company. His work with the company since 1920 has been in the real estate
department. He was also a director of the firm. Mr. Tills was a past president
of the Manitowoc real estate board and was affiliated with the Knights of
Pythias, the Izaak Walton league and the Men's Brotherhood of the First Lutheran
church.
In 1917 he married the former Rose Seibel of this city, who survives him with
two daughters, Mrs. Paul Mahnke and Mrs. Kenneth Mueller, both of Manitowoc; two
brothers, Herman C. of route 2, Manitowoc, and John C. of Milwaukee; a sister,
Mrs. Anton Krumdick of this city, and three grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home from Thursday
noon until 10 a.m. Friday when it will be removed to the church where it will
lie in state until the time of services at 2 p.m.
