ROSE GLASOW THIELEN

Mrs. Peter G. (Rose) Thielen, 71, Valders, whose husband is village president,
died Monday evening at her home after a lingering illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1892, at St. Nazianz, she was a daughter of the late William F.
and Wilhelmina Lueloff Christel and married Reinhold Glasow on June 17, 1912,
at Clarks Mills. He died in 1934. On Aug. 11, 1937, she was married to Mr.
Thielen at Clarks Mills.
Mrs. Thielen was a member of the Valders American Legion Auxiliary of which she
was a past president, Christian Mothers Society, Germania Society, Holy Family
Guild, and the Manitowoc Eagles Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, survivors are three daughters, Miss Ruth Glasow of Valders,
Mrs. William (Ruby) Mueller and Miss Rachel Glasow of Manitowoc; two sons, Randy
Glasow of Park Forest, Ill., Russell Glasow of Whitefish Bay; one stepdaughter,
Mrs. Baldo (Marie) Pucci of Los Angeles, Calif.; three stepsons, Eugene Thielen
of Valders, Lester Thielen of Marinette, George Thielen of Manitowoc; 11 grand-
children; two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Kletzien, Mrs. Louis Pankratz,
Mrs. Tillie Brennan and Mrs. Edgar Ryan, all of Manitowoc, and five brothers,
Isadore Christel of Kiel, William of Minneapolis, Louis of Nekoosa, Arthur of
Manitowoc and Norbert of Valders.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Farley Funeral Home in
Valders, 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Clarks Mills. The Rev. Henry
Arens, pastor, will be celebrant of the requiem Mass and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The rosary will be prayed there at 8 p.m. Wednesday and members of the Manitowoc
Eagles Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 9:15 p.m.
Wednesday.
