Hazel Ada (Teske) Ziarnik, age 92 formerly of Manitowoc, died Tuesday October 2, 2012 at Platinum Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Melbourne, Florida.

Hazel was born April 16, 1920 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Frederick H. and Hattie (Beduhn) Zermuehlen. She was educated at the St Johns Lutheran School and graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1937. Hazel attended the Manitowoc Business College and was employed by the Two Rivers Savings and Loan Co.

Hazel married Donald H. Teske on her 21st birthday in 1941. She resided with her husband in Gary, IN, Sheboygan, and Green Bay, where she was employed by H.C. Prange Co. Upon returning to Manitowoc in 1952 she worked for many years for the Boston Store and it's successor, the Johnson Hills Co. Upon retirement in the mid1970's, she worked for First Financial Bank (presently Associated Bank) in Manitowoc until her final retirement in 1992.

She was a past president of the Manitowoc Chapter of Business and Professional Womens Organization; a member of the board of the Wisconsin Association of Credit Grantors; and a member of the board of the Manitowoc Civic Symphony Orchestra. She sang in the choir of the First Lutheran Church where she also served as an organist.

She married Joseph R. Ziarnik, a former high school classmate, on December 19, 1992 in Rosemont, IL. Hazel resided in Rosemont for twelve years before moving to Rockledge FL in 2004.

Survivors include her husband Joseph R. Ziarnik, Melbourne, FL; one son and daughter-in-law Jon (Joyce) Teske, Olney, MD; one stepson, Ronald (Charlene) Ziarnik, Rockledge,FL,; two grandchildren Joel (Christine) Teske, and Joellyn (Michael) Walsh, both of MD; three step-grandchildren, Jill (Kelly) Jensen, Frisco, TX; Brian (Maria) Ziarnik, Chicago; Steven Ziarnik, Orlando, FL; four great-grandsons; two step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Teske, in 1987, one sister, Elvira Zermuehlen Lalko, and one brother, Harold Zermuehlen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church Chapel 521 North 8th Street in Manitowoc. The Rev. Roald Harswick will officiate. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday at the church chapel from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com.
