OBITUARY OF RUTH TRUMAN BITTERS

Ruth Truman BITTERS, aged 90 and a resident of the Perryton community for 18 years, died Thursday morning at Senior Village.

She was born on May 02, 1892, in Marshall, Missouri, the fifth child of John Truman SWINNEY and Martha McAllister SWINNEY. On October 15, 1912, she was married to Ira Lee BITTERS in Nowata, Oklahoma. Mr. BITTERS preceded her in death.

A member of the Christian Church and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, she lived in Oklahoma for most of her adult life.

A Memorial Service will be held today, Sunday, at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Jack Riley, pastor, and Rev. Tracy Wilson, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen June KINDY of Perryton, Vera Beatrice BRIXEY of Anchorage, Alaska, and Betty Joe PHELPS of Wichita, Kansas; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Ochiltree County Senior Citizens Association, in care of Wilma Srof, Box 738, Perryton.
