Born in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Millicent I. (Pardee) Swezy.
Sylvia was a member of the Victory Christian Church in Middlefield and had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ. She loved to write and had a book published. Sylvia enjoyed her family and was a very, devoted mother and grandmother.
Sylvia is survived by a son, Kenneth E. Caruso and his wife, Paulette of Cromwell; a daughter, Audrey Sutton and her husband, Frank, of Bolton; eight grandchildren, Karli, Sara, Eric, Myah, Leah, Jesse, Jamie, and Kalah; two great grandchildren, Morrigan and Kassidy; a brother-in-law, Nicholas Caruso; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Libera. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Charles W. "Billy" Caruso and a brother, Charles W. Swezy.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell with the Pastor Peter Leal officiating.
Interment will follow in the West Cemetery in Cromwell.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
