Beatrice Sweeney Kummer, age 86, died June 11, 1998 in West Jordan, Utah.
Born May 25, 1912 in Falco, Alabama, daughter of Daniel Griffin Sweeney and Ellen Nora Nichols. Married Ralph Fredrick Kummer on July 29, 1930 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 2, 1958.
Beatrice was a member of the LDS Church, holding many callings and was very active in temple work. She was the family historian and enjoyed genealogy. She also enjoyed dancing and the outdoors, especially camping with her family. She organized and started the Sweeney Family Reunions in 1939 on her father's 75th birthday. Beatrice had 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Beatrice is survived by three sons, R. LaMar (Wilma) Kummer, Cleveland, Utah; Glenn F. Kummer, Riverside, California; Duane L. (Janet) Kummer, West Jordan, Utah; one sister, Ruth Buel, Woodburn, Oregon. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, her parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 15, 1998, 10 a.m. at the West Jordan Stake Center, 7000 So. 2700 West. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Monday at the church from 9 - 9:45 a.m. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.
