Goldie V. Smith, 79, 1791 Smith, died Wednesday in Town and Country Nursing Home following a long illness.

She was born Jan. 3, 1903, in Wood County, Ohio, and came to Midland County in 1910. The former Goldie Sweebe Bloomfield married Elwood Smith, Dec. 22, 1934. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church, Chemical City Veterans of Foreign Wars No3615 Auxiliary, the Military Cooties Chippewa Beaver Pup Tent No. 34, and Veterans of World War I Tittabawassee Barracks No. 326 Auxiliary. Mrs Smith was employed by the Community Drug store for many years.

She leaves her husband; sons, Donald Bloomfield and Duane Bloomfield, both of Midland, Robert Bloomfield of Belton, Mo., Berton Smith of Lakeland, Fla., Commander Vernon Smith of Virginia Beach, Va., Kenneth Smith of bay City and James Smith of Bay City and Lyle Smith, both of Midland; daughters Mrs. Warren (Ruth) O'Connor, Mrs. Douglas (Gladys) Woodcock and Mrs Charles (Frances) Longsdorf, all of Midland, and Mrs Sam (Violet) Bardwell of Hudson, Fla.; 39 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.
