We call her our "Miracle lady" after a long fight with congestive heart failure, Kathleen R. Sweebe won her fight and went home to be with her Lord on July 22, 1999.
She was born on June 13, 1917, in Manistee, daughter of the late Clair and Reva (Murphy) Woodrow. She married Harry A. Sweebe Sr. in 1934, he predeceased her in 1980. Mrs. Sweebe had enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing bingo.
Surviving are her children, Harry A. Jr. and Carol Sweebe, Bonnie Frick, Alice Miehlke all of Midland. Helen Sweebe of Ohio, and Elizabeth Kay and lee Stanford of Georgia; son-in- law Raymond Behmlander of Midland; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Harriett; daughter Myrna Behmlander; great-granddaughter Breahna Miehlke; and by two sisters.
funeral services for Kathleen will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 1999, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. The Rev. Mel Hunt will officiate, with burial in Midland Cemetery. Mrs. Sweebe's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-8 p.m., Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
