Vonna J. (Swearengin) Coffman, 80, of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, March 29, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Vonna was born in Seymour, Missouri to Jessie and Virginia Swearengin on Jan. 27, 1934. She married Floyd E. Coffman on April 20, 1958 in Fairfield.
Vonna was known for her sweet and kind demeanor that won the trust and hearts of those she met. Her wonderful talents in the kitchen were enjoyed by many. She was a proud member of the Church of God for over 60 years.
Vonna was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jessie and Virginia Swearengin; brother, Dalice Swearengin and sister, Neva Riley.
Vonna leaves behind many memories with her husband of 55 years, Floyd E. Coffman; sons, Steven, Timothy and David Coffman; granddaughters, Stephanie and Bailey Coffman; step-grandsons, Ethan and Evan Judd; sisters, Janice Lakin and Glenda Vollet; brother, Larry Swearengin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be on Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m. at Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m., also at Fairfield Funeral Home followed by a committal service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to the Northbay Hospice, 4520 Business Center Drive, Suite 160, Fairfield, CA 94534 in memory of Vonna. Arrangements under the care of Fairfield Funeral Home 707-425-1041.
