Mrs. Mary A. Swart obituary, The Washington Observer, Washington (Washington County), Pennsylvania, 23-24 February, 1967

Mrs. Mary A. Swart, 71, of Waynesburg, R. D. 5, wife of Harley Swart, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 1967, in St. Francis General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a long illness.

Mrs. Swart, a daughter of the late William E. Jenkins and Clara Belle Huffman Jenkins, was born July 28, 1895, in East Finley Township, Washington County, and spent her early life in the Pittsburgh area. She had resided in Greene County since 1924.

She was a member of the Inghram Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh; James Farrell Unit 330, American Legion Auxiliary, and the East Franklin Grange.

Surviving in addition to her husband, whom she married April 15, 1918, are three sons; Dr. James Hobart Swart and Dr. George H. Swart, both of Pittsburgh, and Harold W. Swart, of Waynesburg, and two grandchildren, Cathy Swart, of Waynesburg, and Christopher Swart, of Pittsburgh.

A sister, Mrs. Grace Atkins, and three brothers, Harold, William and Chauncey Jenkins, are deceased.

SWART - Friends of Mrs. Mary A. Swart, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3 (sic), who died Wednesday, February 22, 1967, are being received in the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home, Rogersville. At 12 noon Saturday, February 25, she will be removed to the Enon Baptist Church to lie in state until 3 p.m., when services will be conducted by Rev. William H. Morford. Burial in the Enon Cemetery.
