Jay Watson Swain, 74, died on February 23, 1990 in a Heber City Hospital.
Born February 19, 1916 in Charleston, Utah to Joseph F. and Lacy Watson Swain.
Married Elva Theola Remund on October 1, 1936 in Coalville, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Supervisor of the Wasatch Stake Dairy Farm for 16 years, Supervisor Heber City Road Department for 16 years.
Active Member of the LDS Church having served as Counselor in the Heber 5th Ward Bishopric, Assistant Ward Clerk, 70's Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Missionary and Provo Temple Worker. Veteran World War II, serving in the U. S. Army in the South Pacific.
Survived by wife, Heber City; daughter and son: Mrs. Richard (Elva) Baum, Midway; Mark J. Swain, Evanston, Wyoming; eight grandchildren, one great- granddaughter, brothers and sisters, Mack Swain, Orem; Mrs. Dorothy Payne and Mrs. Mima Daniels, both of Provo. Preceded in death by a son, Phil Swain.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the Heber City Fifth Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Monday one hour prior to the services.
Burial: Heber City Cemetery.
