Darlene Sutton Allen, 66, of Southside died Monday, September 15, 2014, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born October 11, 1947, in Batesville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Hershel Wayne Sutton and Lucille Gray Sutton. Darlene graduated from Southside High School in 1965 and worked as an accountant. She loved her family, was especially proud of her grandchildren, and loved her dogs. She was strong-willed and protective of her siblings. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Frankie Allen; a daughter, Terrie Allen Stubbs and her husband, Mitchell of Southside; four grandchildren, Nathan Simmons, Quincy Simmons, Tyson Franks and Tyra Stubbs; three great-grandchildren, Penelope Simmons, Sutton Simmons and Purcyus Simmons; a son-in-law, Eddie Simmons of Southside; a brother, Gary Sutton and his wife, Pam of Richmond, VA; a sister, Carolene Tosh and her husband, Ray of Cave City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tina Allen Simmons; a brother, Jerry Sutton; a nephew, Alan Thompson; and two great nieces, Ashley Tosh and Lauren Tosh.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Ramsey Heights Baptist Church with Billy Sutton and Aaron Maxwell officiating.
Burial will be at York Cemetery in Pleasant Grove under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearer will be Darryl Henderson, Jerry Henderson, Dale Henderson, Joseph Nast, Braxton Roach and Kyle Altom.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Scales, Jackson Nast, Woody Thompson, Greg Altom, Sam Davis, Tadpole Franks, Cade Skidmore and Preston Thompson.
