Former Resident Dies at Lexington
Miss Dessie Suttles was born March 19, 1864 at Brooksville, Ala. and passed away at the home of her son, W.E. Anderson, near Lexington, Okla. March 2, 1935 after a brief illness.
She was married to J.D. Anderson Dec. 30, 1879 who preceded her in death in 1922. To this union twelve children were born, ten of whom survive and were at the funeral.
They are W.E. Anderson, Lexington; T.C. Anderson, Walter Anderson, Mrs. E.F. Oden, Mrs. B.J. Ferrell, Mrs. Paul Borden and Mrs. W.E. Miller, all of Oklahoma City; L.B. Anderson, Alfalfa; and G.C. Anderson and Mrs. C.E. Jones of Carnegie. She also leaves 31 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, four brothers and a host of friends to mourn her death.
She has been a member of the Primitive Baptist church over 40 years. She was a kind, loving mother and loved by all who knew her.
A funeral service was held Sunday morning at 9 o'clock at the Guardian Funeral Home in Oklahoma City for the benefit of her friends in Oklahoma City conducted by Rev. M.F. Oden.
The funeral here was held at Alfalfa at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Cummings. Interment was made in the Alfalfa cemetery.
