Fort Bend Herald, Monday, April 21, 2008:

Funeral services for Vlasta Frenzel, 88, of Richmond, Texas, will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Eugene Balis, Kenneth Marek, Jim Olive, Corey Kelley, Michael Kelley and James Kaderka. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 in the state-room of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Vlasta was born June 5, 1919 in Bellville, Texas to Joe Susan and Frances Kasparek Susan. Vlasta went to be with our Lord and Savior April 18, 2008 in Richmond, Texas after an extended illness. Her kind heart was an inspiration to her family.

Vlasta is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Reuben Elvis Frenzel from Richmond; daughter, Beverly Roark and husband Gary of Huntsville; brother, Otto Susan and friend Margaret Trlicek of Needville; and sister-in law Winnie Susan from Needville. She is survived by nieces: Nadyne Carlisle and Lorene Whitehall of Trinity, Gloria Hebert, Rose Marie Britten, and Genny Vrana of Houston, Karen Rust of San Marcos, and nephew, Eugene Balis of Richmond; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.

Vlasta is preceded in death by her father, Joe Susan; mother, Frances Kasparek Susan, brothers Alfred Susan and wife Bessie, Ed Susan and wife Annie, Edwin Susan, and sisters Annie Balis and husband Norman, Cecelia Zettel and husband Bill, and Gertrude Lile and husband Guy; nieces LaNell McFarlane, Dorothy Sherrill, and nephew Edwin (Sonny) Susan, Jr.

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice of Houston for the excellent care and support provided to Vlasta and her family.
