Etta Imogene Summers was the daughter of James Harvey Summers and Sarah Marian Hisey. She was born in Decatur Co., Iowa just after the Civil War. Her family moved to Mitchell Co., Kansas in 1878. They lived for a time in Bloomfield Twp.
It was here that she married Joseph Richmond Kinney on Aug. 17th, 1884. They moved about in different parts of Kansas and Nebraska before moving to Washington State in 1903.
They settled in what was known as Mission in Chelan County. This town changed it's name to Cashmere shortly after this. Joseph and Etta would have a total of 8 children, the last being born in Cashmere.
Etta was the grandmother of my grandmother, Marjorie Campbell. Marjorie told me that she had many fond memories of her grandmother Etta.
