Mrs. E. Jane Blickenstaff, 73, of Myersville, died Sunday, Sept. 14 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

She was the wife of George E. Blickenstaff.

Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Quincy, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles William Summers and Susie E. Miller Summers Kaetzel.

Mrs. Blickenstaff retired from Washington County Hospital in 1997 after 40 years.

Mrs. Blickenstaff graduated from Middletown High School in 1947 and from Washington County Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She was certified in nursing administration and critical care.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a volunteer of Friends of Reeders Nursing Home, Boonsboro where she played the piano for the Sunday evening service. She was also a member of Gideons Auxiliary International and the Myersville Senior Citizens.

She was an avid reader and loved music.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Robin Blickenstaff Schmitt and husband Henry Jr. of Springfield, Va.; two sons, Brent Blickenstaff and wife Patty of Wolfsville, and Barry Blickenstaff and wife Kelly of Myersville; nine grandchildren, Karilee and Kaytlyn Schmitt, Jeremy, Amy, Cody, Bailey, Anna, Kirsten and Isaac Blickenstaff.
