wcp 7-17-08 - Services for Sammie Lynne Sullivan Anderson, age 55, were held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 11, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Dresden, TN with Dr. Don McCulley officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Sammie entered eternal peace on July 8, 2008 after complication from a long term blood disease, Mylofribrosis.

Sammie was a 1971 graduate of Bells High School and a 1975 graduate of UT Martin with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught second grade at Dresden Elementary for 25 years and touched many lives. She loved children and found much joy in teaching an after school science club. Her early years of motherhood she spent at home investing in the lives of her 3 daughters. She also was a real estate agent and instrumental in her husband's auction business. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Dresden where she was involved in many ministries such as: Sunday school teacher, VBS teacher, children's Bible drill teacher, mission organizations, choir member, and organist.

Sammie was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Martha Ann Sullivan of Bells. She is survived by her loving husband, Marshall Anderson of Dresden. They spent almost 35 wonderful years together. She is also survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Corrie and Brian Bradberry of Martin, Emily and Tyler Rhoton of Knoxville, and Ellie and Andy Holt of Dresden. She loved and bragged on all five of her grandchildren who called her Grammie. They include Carson and Jack Bradberry, Caroline and Will Rhoton, and Josie Holt. Two more grandchildren are expected to arrive in October. Sammie leaves two sisters, Sandra Smith of Brentwood and Barbara Castellaw of Bells and a large and loving extended family. She had 5 nieces, Mandy DeRocher of Brentwood, Molly Griggs of Nashville, Melissa Castellaw, Jenny Castellaw, and Cassie Castellaw, all of Bells, and 1 nephew, Zach Dunlap of Paducah, Kentucky.

Sammie will be greatly missed; she was truly an extraordinary person. Friends wanting to consider a memorial donation may contribute to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Dresden, Tennessee.
