Regina Boyle

Regina Boyle, 84, of Wyoming, passed away Friday morning, January 28, 2011, in her home. Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mame Moran Sullivan.

She was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1944, a member of the St. John's Legion of Mary, and attended bookkeeping classes at Luzerne County Community College.

Mrs. Boyle was employed at Edith Jones Apparel, Pittston, and, prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper for the former Wyoming Shovel Works.

Regina and her husband, Joseph, enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home. She was also an avid sports fan anxiously awaiting the upcoming Super Bowl.

Preceding her in death was her son Robert Boyle; and her siblings, Harold, Joseph, Nath, Mary Gallagher, Daniel and James.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage; children, Regina Furey and her husband, John, Pile Grove, N.J.; Kathy Ventri and her husband, David, Lancaster, Pa.; Mary Fino, Wyoming; Joseph Boyle and his wife, Jeannette, Bensalem, Pa., and Patrick Boyle and his wife, Christine, Granite Bay, Calif.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Sullivan, New Jersey, and Ruth Lynch, California; as well as nieces and nephews.

A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, Wyoming, with the Rev. Daniel J. Yenkevich, of St. Cecilia's Church, officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
