Virginia Anderson, 80, of Waverly, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at her residence.
She was born June 29, 1922, in rural Waverly, the daughter of William Parker and Hope Zelmer Sullivan. She married Russell Irving Alderson July 18, 1943, at the home of her parents in rural Waverly, and he survives.
She is also survived by one daughter, Deanna (husband, Ralph) Rick of Waverly; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one sister Wilma (husband, Raymond) Ross of Waverly.
Mrs. Alderson retired from the Waverly school system after 31 years as a secretary, was former member of the Waverly American Legion Auxiliary, and was a member of the Waverly Christian Church.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Waverly Christian Church, with burial at Waverly East Cemetery.
