Rufus Sullivan, 84, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Russell County Hospital.
He was born in Russell County on September 7, 1913 to Sally Bryant Sullivan and William Taylor Sullivan, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter - Alla Jean Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife - Minnie Carter Sullivan; one son and daughter-in-law - Glenville and Lorraine Sullivan, all of Russell Springs; two grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law - Kenneth and Beverly Sullivan of Russell Springs and Leonard Sullivan of Salvisa. Three step-great-grandchildren also survive.
Other survivors include on half-brother - Elbert Sullivan of Indianapolis, Indiana; and four sisters - Dorothy Kell of Shepherdsville, Nina Rooks and Edith Hadley, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Lavona Wade of Geneva, Ohio.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Wednesday, February 11 at 10 a.m. at Bearnard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Coffey and the Rev. Richard Antle officiating. Special music provided by Bobby and Emma Lou Bryant and Mavis Johnson.
Interment was in Bethlehem was in Bethlehem Cemetery.
